LASERGRAPHICS INTRODUCES NEW HIGH-SPEED MOTION PICTURE FILM SCANNER
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, September 7, 2012 — Introduced at IBC, Lasergraphics' new ScanStation high-speed motion picture film scanner scans film with sound to HD at up to 60 frames per second.
The ScanStation is the latest addition to Lasergraphics line of motion picture film scanning systems. In a word, the ScanStation is about speed.
Its workstation-centric design facilitates quick and easy film loading and its two built-in light tables allow for the splicing of film without removing it from the scanner. After a splice is repaired, the Automatic Failed Splice Recovery (FSR) ™ feature finds the proper frame and continues, alleviating the need for post processing and pre-inspection of the film for bad splices.
The ScanStation accommodates 35mm, 28mm, 17.5mm, 9.5mm, 16mm, 8mm, and Super 8mm and can simultaneously output image and soundtrack directly to HD ProRes, DPX or TIFF. The 2D optical pin-registration feature automatically adjusts for shrunken film and the high-speed digital soundtrack camera reads silver or magnetic soundtracks and automatically adjusts for aperture position. No manual adjustments required.
For more than 30 years, Lasergraphics has been at the forefront of film imaging system technology. The explosive growth in storage and computing power enables file-based workflows to vastly outperform conventional methods. The ScanStation is designed for ultimate speed and is the fastest way to make film available in digital form.
